The word vinegar basically means "sour wine”. It’s actually a very acidic fluid that comes from fermenting ethanol or other various products, producing ethanolic acid. There are also natural vinegars that have minute amounts of tartaric acid and a variety of other acids. In order to use vinegar to fight acne, there are some easy steps, including washing the skin with mild soap before applying the vinegar. Combine one part vinegar (apple cider vinegar is most recommended) to one part witch hazel, and one part water, and splash this solution on the area with the acne outbreak. Don’t leave it on for more than a minute, then rinse with warm water followed by a rinse with cold water. When this is done daily, it will start clearing up those annoying acne outbreaks. The vinegar helps balance the pH levels, in addition to clearing and eliminating the bacteria that causes acne.
Even a "spot treatment” can be created by combining one tablespoon of apple cider vinegar with eight ounces of water and applying directly to the
blackheads, pimples, or pustules with a cotton ball several times a day. It fights infection and reduces inflammation.
